PCP lets you build your Chrome Differential Cover here on our site; choose form over 32 different
powder coated colors to what type
of fasteners you require. Don't have a drain or fill plug in your present differential cover? You can
add one or both plugs here.
Options:
*Powder Coating - Over 32 different colors to choose from, from clear
to textures and everything in-between.
If you order only one option we suggest
ordering the clear powder, this will increase the durability and life of
your
chrome cover exponentially.
* Drain Plug - Differential covers from the factory do not have drain
plugs in them, for this reason we offer this
option. Automakers suggest changing
you gear lubricant once every 15,000 miles (about a year of driving).
The only
way to drain your lubricant without this option is to remove the complete cover
and let drain, scrape
and replace gasket and reinstall new gasket, install and
torque all fasteners. With a drain plug in place you
remove one (1) bolt let
drain and replace
hands don't even get dirty.
* Fill Plug - Some factories do have fill plugs in the differential
covers, if yours does not order this option to make
maintenance easy. Taking into consideration all the fluids used in a vehicle
the axles are the least maintained.
* Magnetic Fill Plug - This will trap the small metal particles that
could potentially damage and prematurely wear
the differential components. When
changing your gear lube simple clean the magnet off before reinstalling.
*Fasteners - From economy conscious Zinc Plated Hex Nuts to corrosion
resistant Stainless Steel Socket Head
Cap Screws. Stainless Steel will not rust or discolor, the same grade that is
used in the food industry.
We have everything in-between.
*Gasket - Let's face it some of us do not like gaskets on our oil pans,
valve covers or your differential covers, etc.
And yet others swear by them
(the auto factories do). Other will only use RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing
elastomer sealant). Rather than include and charge you for a gasket that may
never be used we leave the decision to you.
Factories suggest changing axle lubrication every 15,000 miles (once a year),
we make doing that very simple. Add options or just keep it simple.
