Q-Are your Spider Rock Guards and Rock Crushers supplied with mounting hardware?
A-Yes, All of our Spider Rock Guards and Rock Crushers are supplied with Stainless Steel mounting hardware.

Q-I would like to paint my Spider Rock Guard the same color as my truck. Can I order the Spider without any powder coating applied to it…bare metal.
A-No, none of our Spider Rock Guards leave bare. If you are going to custom paint your Spider yourself order the powder primer, it's a great base for your paint.

Q-Do you send orders to Alaska?
A-Yes, we ship to Alaska and Hawaii, obviously shipping cost will reflect the location.

Q-Do you have any distributors in Florida?
A-No, we are the manufacture and distributor; all orders are shipped from our Dearborn shop.

Q-Will I be charged the shipping and handling charge shown for each item and at check-out?
A-You may, the shipping and handling listed on our web site is only an estimate, you will be charged the actual UPS cost. Obviously it is cheaper to ship multiple items rather than each one individually. We always try to combine all the items and ship them in one (1) container.

Q-Are covers included with the Spider Rock Guards?
A-No, these are sold separately; they are listed on our Chrome Cover section.

Q-Can I order a chrome cover and Spider Rock Guard and order them each powdered coated a different color?
A-Yes, Purchase the desired colors, then make sure you specify which color is to be applied to which item in the comments section.

Q-I have an aftermarket Aluminum cover for my Sterling axle on my Ford Super Duty, it is not a PCP aluminum cover. Will your Spider Rock Guard for Aluminum cover fit my cover?
A-It may and it may not. Our Spider Rock Guards for Aluminum covers are only guaranteed to fit our PCP covers. The casting thickness on aluminum covers is very thick and varies tremendously from manufacture to manufacture. Although many customers have said our covers are exact matches (size and dimensions) for some of the other aftermarket covers.

Q-It doesn't look like you manufacture a Rock Crusher for my axle, what are my options?
A-We manufacture more Spider Rock Guards than Rock Crushers, do we manufacture a Spider Rock Guard for your application? If not you are still in luck, we can manufacture a Rock Crusher cover complete with integrated drain plug, dip stick, internal magnets, powder coated inside and out and all NMSS fasteners for $199.99.

Q-Do you ship to Canada?
A-Yes.

Q-Does your Rock Crusher Cover hold more fluid for better lubricate and heat dissipation.
A-No, to increase fluid capacity we would have to make our covers larger, which would make them more susceptible to getting hung up on rocks.

Q-How far does your Rock Crusher Cover Protrude past the stock cover location that I presently have on my axle.
A-.250, one quarter on an inch. When designing it, we wanted to keep the covers outer structure as close to the axle as possible. The cover is a full .250" thick that is why it protrudes this amount, it should not interfere with most steering applications.

Q-You state in some of your product information that NMSS Socket Head Cap Screws are included in your packages. What NMSS mean?
A-NMSS, Non-Magnetic Stainless Steel. These are a very fine grade of stainless steel, with almost no carbon steel therefore they are non-magnetic.

Q-Are all the powder coated colors in stock for your Spiders?
A- No, We now have over 45 different colors, we do not keep over 45 different colors of each of our Spider Rock Guards (37 different models) on the shelves. When you order a custom color allow 3-5 business days before shipping.
Q-Is the included mounting hardware longer to accommodate the Spider Rock Guard and the stock or aftermarket cover?
A-Yes, all the mounting hardware is the proper length required for either the stamped steel covers or aluminum covers.

Q-Do I have to wait 3-5 days for a Spider Rock Guard that I ordered in Bright Yellow and if so why?
A-Yes, we have over 45 custom powder colors now and we do not apply each of them everyday. When we first started to do all of our powder coating in house we would switch from Black Hammertone to colors every 3 days. But now with so many color choices we actually apply colors more than the standard Black Hammertone, as a result customers will even have to wait for Black Hammertone. Even with the wait our prices and lead time cannot be beat. An average Powder Coating Shop cost for one (1) Spider Rock Guard in our standard Hammertone Black is $33-$45 and lead time is 2-3 weeks. Ours is $15 and 3-5 business days.

Q-Are the legs of the Spider Rock Guards tube? If so what is the wall thickness?
A-No they are solid Cold Rolled Steel…solid, Steel tubing regardless of wall thickness would not be able to withstand the pounding our Spider Rock Guards are made to take.

Q-Are your Spider Rock Guards and Rock Crushers flat. In other words will it give me a good seal against my axle housing? The reason I am asking is my friend purchased a rock guard from another company , after he installed it he noticed it began to leak, not a lot but enough where he had to keep an eye on it.
A-All of our Spider Rock Guards and Rock Crushes are Blanchard ground at our facility. Most have a TIR (total indicator reading) of no more than .001", that is flatter than most axle housing surfaces. If your stock cover is slightly bent and you are leaking fluid install our Spider, it should straighten out your bend and stop that leak.

Q-Why do you recommend using an RTV rather than a gasket when using a Rock Crusher Cover?
A-Because if you have been rock crawling for any length of time without a Spider Rock Guard or Rock Crusher cover you may have twisted your axle (we have encountered many). If it is twisted you will not pull our .500" flange even slightly against a twisted housing, the result will be a leaking cover. Instead we recommend using a high quality RTV instead

Q-Are the chrome or aluminum covers shown in some of the pictures included with the Spider Rock Guards?
A-No.

Q- I own a Dodge, and my cover has a raised lip on the outer edge. Will I have to grind this lip off in order to install the Spider® Rock Guard? A couple of friends have rock guards both from different manufactures and they were instructed to "modify" their differential cover to fit the rock guard.
A-No modifications to our Spider® Rock Guard or to any component on your vehicle is necessary when using either our Spider® Rock Guard or Rock Crusher Cover. In fact we have seen individuals at four wheel drive events install our Spider® Rock Guards without even removing the cover and draining the fluid. We recommend changing the fluid at the time of installation but this just illustrates how easy installing our products are.
